Happy Hulaween

Aloha! Miss Hulaween will be going to the fundraiser, Poker & Pumpkins, to benefit the Stanwood Camano Community Resource Center. Hula is made from a butternut squash (for her shapely figure), a Cabbage Patch doll's head, raffia, old pantyhose, staples, glue and duct tape (of course). She has a great poker face. I hope I can bluff my way through a few hands of Texas Hold 'Em to win a prize. Happy Hulaween! ~alohahahahahahaha~

These are the new pieces I just submitted to the Arts Council of Snohomish County for their autumn exhibit: Of Clocks and Crows. Can you see the influence of our trip to Montana? The Big Sky Country has reminded me that I am a western artist! Montana makes my heart sing and helps me find my own unique voice.

Shirley—You Jest! and Red Rocks

A case is a sectioned, wooden drawer that holds lead type for letterpress printing. Several cases are kept in a cabinet with a marble top for composing a block of type for printing. The terms Upper Case and Lower Case come from letterpress, as well as Leading (actual pieces of lead to separate the lines of type.)
