First Coat of Paint

more texture

To clean the paintbrush, I remove some of the paint
(outdoor latex) by painting the caps on the fence posts.

Ready for Primer

First, the plastic barrel was washed with diluted vinegar.  When dry, the surface of the barrel was sanded, getting it ready for primer.

Rusty, the Watchdog, watches.

Outside, the first coat of primer goes on.

Getting work done outdoors in the Pacific Northwest can be challenging.  Did I mention this is a RAIN Barrel?

The sprinkles of rain added some texture to the surface, which I try to create in all my projects. Yea! Less work for me.

Kevin helped retrieve the barrel so he was rewarded with a very very delicious cinnamon roll from Calico Cupboard. I had to have one, too. Fair is fair.

Layer

The Long Rain
Illustration Friday. Topic this week is "LAYER"
Sometimes, in the Pacific Northwest, it feels like the storms
are just one
layer of rain, sleet and snow after another.

Spooky

Zero Hour. This illustration is based on a story by Ray Bradbury. At zero hour, the martians arrived to take over. Their unwitting accomplices were the children who thought they were playing a game. They pointed the way to where their terrified parents were hiding.

Portrait Show at Lowell Art Works

Portrait por·trait [pawr-trit, -treyt, pohr-]:

“A portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person.”

Two of my acrylics will be in this exhibit of portraits.

Will I see you at the Art Walk?
