New Art Boxes

One of the things I enjoy is making something old, new again. Seems like some of these colors and  designs have been seen before—in stylish cute dresses I wore in high school, on a backpack I carried at the UofM, and on posters and even in the packaging of Eau d' London perfume (promoted by Jean Shrimpton). And Twiggy!  Ha!  Guess what year that was.  Peter Max was a huge influence in my art as well as all the amazing, groovy poster designs of the time. Album covers are still a favorite art form for me, even if they are on a much smaller scale for CDs. The art is still important to convey the message of the band's music—hopefully something not taken for granted. So, keep on truckin'. And give peace a chance.( These are old silverware boxes given a new look with secret treasures tucked inside.)

Art at Oasis

Journeys of Expression at Oasis Art Gallery in Seattle.  The artwork I will be showing is part of the series called "Hippy Dippy Eco Peace Garden"and  features the colors, textures and patterns that have lived with me since the late 60s.  I love the way the colors energize me and bring a new enthusiasm to my painting. Everything old is new again, right?  Go to oasisinseattle.com for more images and information.

***Snow***

SNOW! On Camano Island.
We don't get snow and cold very often. This is a rare treat. Time to bundle up, sit by the fire and work on ART.

Bunny's Cake

My little sister, Ellen, was born just before Easter. Every year Mom would bake her a bunny cake with jelly beans, sprinkles and coconut.  Sugary!  We still call her "Buns" which is short for Bunny.  I love my little sis! xoJeannieWeenie

Heroes for the Homeless

An auction to benefit Heroes for the Homeless (http://www.heroesforthehomeless.com) will take place during Seattle's Food & Wine experience in October.  This is the wine barrel I painted for the fundraiser.  I used acrylics and Krylon spray paint and just a touch of latex house paint in layers along with some stamping and stencils.

Pearanoia

Somebody is watching me.
I can't get any work done with all this stuff piled on the dining room table.
Wait - what's that noise?
Maybe if I just organize these little piles.
Something just moved in the corner.
Maybe if I walk the dog, I can clear my head,
then grab something to eat, scan the newspaper,
run a load of laundry, make a phone call,
move the little piles to the counter, water the plants...
Is somebody there?

Need to get rid of the clutter!!!!!
